January 20, 2009 ~ Good Posture is Good Health
Posture ranks right up at the top of the list when you are talking about good health. It is as important as eating right, exercising, getting a good night's sleep and avoiding potentially harmful substances like alcohol, drugs and tobacco. Good posture is a way of doing things with more energy, less stress and fatigue. Without good posture, you can't really be physically fit. The good news is that most everyone can avoid the problems caused by bad posture...and you can make improvements at any age.
February 17, 2009 ~ Ergonomics: Interacting with your Environment
Some people develop poor posture and pain due to common activities such as sitting in office chairs, working at computers, sleeping in bed, driving the car or standing for long periods of time. A variety of painful conditions occur as a result such as carpal tunnel syndrome, back pain, shoulder pain, neck pain and headaches.
March 17, 2009 ~ Nutrition & Inflammation
There are two types of inflammation. The classic form of inflammation hurts. However, the second type is far more dangerous. This is silent inflammation. This type of inflammation is below the perception of pain. It’s a marker of the inflammatory potential of a cell. It is not a disease, but it is the first clinical sign that you are no longer well. This is the type of inflammation that can’t be altered by any drug, but it can be reduced by diet and high quality fish oil.
