Yes. The proper monitor height is important in preventing not only neck pain but upper back pain as well as eye strain and possible migraines. The most effective way to determine correct monitor height is to sit correctly in your chair. Position your body and head in a neutral and upright position – your spine should be straight and head centered over your shoulders. Then, align your monitor height so you don’t have to tilt your head up or down to look at it. When looking at the screen, your eyes should be level with the top half of the monitor. You should never have to lean forward to see your monitor. The monitor should be located directly in front of you. Your monitor should be about arms length away. Taking periodic small breaks will help reduce tension. Stretch every 20 to 30 minutes.
